VMOU Alumni Association Established: 6th October 2007 Coordinator: Prof. B.K. Sharma, Professor of History Co-coordinator: Dr. Kshamata Chaudhary, Assistant Professor of English VMOU, Kota has been receiving a rousing reception in the educational field in distance education because of the responsibility and dignity it has earned for developing quality courses. Understanding the emergence of new needs of the educational whole, to achieve the motto of ‘to reach the unreached’, the university instituted an Alumni Association. Objectives
Nature of Membership: Annual Membership Fee: Rs 100/- (DD in favour of VMOU, Kota) Annual Conference: Annual Meeting First Alumni Association Meeting First Alumni Association meeting of Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota was organized on 6th Oct. 2007 at EMPC building in the University Premises. In the inaugural session Prof. Anam Jaitly, Director (Academic) welcomed the gathering and appraised; everyone about the achievements of University in past 2 decades of Distance Education. As many as 40 Alumni of VMOU, Kota participated in the meeting along with VMOU staff. Inaugural Session
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naresh Dadhich graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest Prof. Dadhich in his address put forth his views on the need of Alumni Association and its objectivity. He said that the need to form and alumni association had long been felt, to strengthen the bond between the students and its alma mater. Alumni Association would further help them to build the network of distance education and would be puissant medium to carry out the University Moto ‘To reach the unreached’. He shared his hope that each and every alumnus associated with the University will walk hand in hand for the progress of the University. Alumni Association is a unique way to let the future generation know about the traditions built up by the institution. The Members’ Annual Session turned out to be a most memorable occasion for all alumni. They fondly reminisced their association with VMOU and also envisage keen interest in the university growth. This valuable association, throws an opportunity for the alumni to come forward and show their keenness to work for the institution even when they are no longer enrolled. In the coordination session all the alumnus introduce themselves. Amalgamation of representatives of all Reg. Centers could be seen. Alumni shared their views for the betterment of University. They were practical and their enthusiasm was worth seeing. Regional Alumni representatives were nominated so to enhance the number of member. Our quarterly newsletter ‘MEERA’ was distributed to alumni members. Their avenues were also decided. It was also deiced that 20 membership forms will be issued to them and they would get them filled. Later, along with the list and forms they will deposit membership fee in the Accounts department. -Where the vision is one year, cultivate flowers
