SCHOOL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Department of Science and Technology, VMOU Kota started functioning in 1988 with a challenge of imparting good quality theoretical and practical education in various disciplines of core sciences and computer sciences as well.

In 2007 the department launched the Bachelor of Science (Pass Course) Programme �one of its kind in the state involving teaching of Theory and laboratory courses in Science through Distance and open learning mode. It involved subjects of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics & Zoology in various combinations under different groups also incorporating the technology aspect by offering Computer Science & IT along with the core disciplines as optional. The School has also collaborated with the School of Social Sciences and Humanities by including Geography and Economics as subject combinations along with Science subjects in its B.Sc. Programme.

Thereafter M.Sc. in Computer Science and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) gave the department a further technological boost.

In 2013 the department was rejuvenated and transformed into �THE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY� with full flesh devotion towards Science and Technology.

The major breakthrough of the School came very soon with the launch of Masters Courses in July 2013 Session in Botany, Chemistry, Computer (MCA), Mathematics, Physics & Zoology. The response shown towards these courses by the students has been overwhelming and mushrooming session after session.

Apart from above mentioned courses we also offer lateral entry at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level and additional subject in the concerned Graduation.

The next step ahead is making the university a center of research and excellence to promote Science at the fullest.
